Ohio Airships Inc., a privately held corporation currently headquartered  in Toledo, Ohio (USA), was established in 1999 by Robert L. Rist and Brian Martin. The two co-founders' vision was to design and develop a mode of transport that could answer the global need for fuel-efficient, long distance transport, but without the need for billion-dollar infrastructures such as highways, railways and waterways.

Their vision, relentless effort and drive has produced a revolutionary type of hybrid aircraft, which they have christened the Dynalifter®. Heavier than air, it is a cross between an airship and a traditional aircraft. The Dynalifter® simultaneously offers the great fuel efficiencies and short runway capabilities of historical airships, with the weather handling and concentrated payload capabilities of traditional airplanes. The first prototype, completed in 2006, obtained a FAA airworthiness certificate. The Dynalifter PSC-4 Prototype currently resides at the Toledo Express Airport.
